Myarashores

General informations

Myarashores is a small town on the seaside. Upon crossing the portal, you will find a shopping street, with small fruits stalls, branded clothing stores, knick knacks for sale... Walking away from it you will see a gorgeous park with space to run and playgrounds for both children and adults to enjoy the outside. Crossing the street you will find the town's most liked café, as well as access the clinic where all your and your pet's health needs can be taken care of.

Further away is the local library, which is often where students from the university hang out. The university offers courses in marine biology, ecology and agricultural fields as it is ideally located for it, as well as more traditional courses. Closeby is the sports center, offering a gym as well as a small seasalt pool and an area for inside sports such as volleyball, basketball, etc. It often hosts events.

On the seafront you will find a promenade, lined with restaurants and attractions mainly opened in the summer for tourists. The beaches are made of fine sand and, while the water isn't really warm, it still makes for a nice place to bath or sunbath. Finally, more isolated is the harbour, where fishermen bring in their haul and people may park a few boats or rent one to sail out for a time.

History & Government

Around the 1800's, a bunch of fishermen settled around Myarashores due to its abundance of fishes. Soon enough their family followed and it became a small fishing community with a growing farming industry. The variety of foods made it somewhat popular and it grew steadily until it became a village, now a town. It was named after the first ship to do business here, the "Myara".

Its government is a democratically elected mayor and its council taking care of the town, though it is a part of a bigger country in Europe.

Its people mostly live from either farming, fishing, or more recently, tourism, as it tried to develop in that direction due to the lack of funds the previous industries bring in. The humans who live here have a lot of urban legends, which adds an air of mystery to the town, though most of them do not believe them, assuming it's a publicity stunt.

Species

There isn't anything special about Myarashores; humans live there, more or less peacefully. They have no innate magical abilities and tend to rely on technological advancements.
